Prime Minister Luc Frieden announced an agreement in the Tripartite today and said in that context
"We are aware of our responsibility. And that is why we also approached the social partners. We listened, we discussed. And that is why I am actually very satisfied, even though the subject was difficult, even though the discussions were sometimes intense and difficult, that we managed to reach an agreement with the social partners. In the interest of the people, in the interest of businesses and thus in the interest of Luxembourg."
The aims of this agreement are:
✅ Strengthen purchasing power
With an energy price cap, a cyclical tax credit from 1 July, and €200 more net on the minimum wage.
✅ Protect jobs
With targeted support for businesses, especially in logistics and agriculture.
✅ Drive forward the energy transition
With a more attractive Climate Bonus for housing and an early Social Leasing scheme for electric mobility.
💬After the negotiations, Luc Frieden said:
“It is up to the government to look after protecting the people in the country, to ensure that life goes on and that what we have built together is not worsened from the outside by a crisis that is coming towards us, which is partly already here.”
That is responsible policy.
That is lived social dialogue. Together. For each other.
