On 24 September 2026, the CSV MPs Laurent Zeimet, Jeff Boonen, Alex Donnersbach and Paul Galles met with Charel Schmit, Ombudsman for Children and Young People (OKAJU), for talks.
The focus of the meeting was the current reforms in youth protection and juvenile criminal law in Luxembourg. Among other things, they discussed how the planned reforms can take better account of realities and on-the-ground experience.
Another key topic was dialogue between the various stakeholders active in the fields of youth protection and juvenile criminal law. This involved the question of how exchanges and cooperation between the institutions and professionals concerned can be improved.
The meeting with OKAJU made it possible to bring on-the-ground experience and observations into the discussion around the current reforms and to address their practical implementation.
